Vieira Hangs Up His Boots And The Former Gunners Star Takes Up New Role At City And Vieira Has Retiring From Playing To Take Up New Role At Manchester City.

Patrick Vieira has retired as a player to take up a new role of a football development executive at Manchester City and the 35-year-old has been handed the new role at City after deciding to hang up his boots after an illustrious career.

Vieira spent 18 months at City after arriving from Inter Milan in January 2010, but he struggled to hold down a regular place in Roberto Mancini's side and the former Arsenal star played a bit-part role last season and the most of his Premier League appearances coming off the bench and he was not offered a new deal when his contract expired earlier this summer.

He has chosen to extend his time with Manchester City in this new capacity and the Senegal born star won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups during a a glittering 9 year spell at the Arsenal and Vieira, who won 107 caps for France, was a member of the 1998 World Cup winning side and the Euro 2000 winning squad for Les Bleus.

International career for a Vieira chose to make his debut for France in 1997 against the Netherlands. He was part of the France squad in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and he came on as a substitute in the final against Brazil, and set up Emmanuel Petit for France's 3rd goal in a 3/0 win and he, with the rest of the squad and received Knight of Legion honneur France's highest decoration in a 1998.

Adebayor rules out Zenit move and Striker would have no qualms returning to City or rejoining Real

Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor Born in Togo to Nigerian parents of the Yoruba ethnic group, he began his career in a homeland playing for OC Agaza in Lomé and he made it to the U-15 level, and was spotted by the French club Metz for a after a trial, Adebayor joined the club in 1999 and played in the U-17 level for two years before joining the second team and Adebayor was a pundit for the BBC Sport's 2010 FIFA World Cup coverage.

In his first season, he played 9 games and scored twice for the 2002–03 season, he scored 17 goals in 35 games and he is signed a new contract with Monaco in 2003 & he scored 7 goals in 17 appearances, helping them reach the 2004 UEFA Champions League Final with 2 goals in 10 games.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor says there is 'no chance' that he will join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg this summer and he has a future at City remains uncertain after he spent the second half of last season on loan with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Togo forward has previously stated he would be happy to join Real in a permanent basis amid reports he is not wanted as part of Roberto Mancini's plans at City next season and Marseille have been linked with a move for the former Arsenal and Monaco man, while Zenit were also rumoured to have made an a offer.
